It's a value objective. I needed a commuter bike that I can ride to work and around the neighborhood without breaking the bank. From the start the brakes were mushy so I replaced them with SRAM Apex which I had from a previous bike. Now the bike stops on a dime. Secondly the hubs have bearing friction, will live with this until I get better hubs. I've put my road bike wheel set on and they were way better but the chainline is off. Changed the seat but that was a personal choice. Otherwise the bike is good.
First of all, I got this as a commuter bike as I wanted to bike to work which is about 4 miles away from where I stay.
I've been doing that daily for about 4 months, that is easily 800 miles i've put on the bike and all service/cleaning has been done at home.
I'm surprised to stay, I've had not issues to date, and that is riding on shitty roads of Boston!
There are two minor points i'd like to mention:
1. For some reason the tube barely maintains the pressure. I have to usually pump every other day, but i'm not sure if that heat or extensive use.
2. If you intend to use this as a city bike, the paint will scratch and chip from contact with bike racks.
There's an easy fix for the paint. I put a vinyl protective tape (i had one in matte black for the car) on all bars.
Works wonders, I could retape it annualy and the bike would look good as new.
Apart from this, the bike is great. Its light (not as much as those road bikes but light enough).
The build quality is quite appreciable, haven't had any issues yet.
The brakes with a light tune work wonderfully.
Of course the packaging and assembly was very neat and quick.
This, undoubtedly, is a great bike for the price!!
